Feedback Friday - What is Your Life Verse?

A "life verse" is a verse or passage in the Bible that is significant to you. It may define your life, give you inspiration or direction, be something that you hang onto as you face difficult circumstances, or it could even be the passage of scripture that brought you to a belief in Jesus Christ.

My life verse is Galatians 6:9 which says "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest IF we do not give up!"

This verse applies to every hard thing in life. When I am weary of getting up early for my quiet time (or to blog) I remind myself "do not give up". When I'm tempted to be critical of my husband, I am reminded -"do not grow weary in doing good". When my children need disciplined over and over and over I am reminded "do not give up." When I grow weary in different aspects of serving at church I am reminded "do not give up". When I pray for lost loved ones year in and year out with no signs of change I am reminded "do not give up."

This verse helps me to persevere when I am weary and want to give up - why? Because in time there will be a harvest - but only IF we do not give up!

Do you have a life verse? Will you share it with me in the comments section? I look forward to hearing from you!

I like to call Galatians 6:9 "my season of life verse". I have had a few life verses but I feel like this verse fits where I am right now in life. Being a helper to my husband, nurturing and training my children gets hard and isn't always rewarding and this verse keeps me persevering when I would like to throw in the towel. Plus it reminds why I am doing all this, to please God!

Suzanne - I love your verse - that is a great one! I have it written out on my window sill in the kitchen - and I am reminded to pull from Christ's strength and not my own - because in my own strength I am very weak!

Mom24 - some day you are going to reap a beautiful harvest - I am confident of that - keep up the hard work!!!

There are so many great verses-and I enjoy all the ones already mentioned. The one verse I have always looked to is Psalm 37:4- Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

It's funny how mom24 says the "season of life" verse because I can see how that is true.

It was always John 14:27 for me in high school/college. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

It still rings true now as a wife, mother and homemaker. It's actually one of the verses I try and encourage people with while giving my testimony because honestly, the Lord's peace is like no other.

Hmm... this is always a hard question for me. How do I pick ONE?

One of my favorites is Psalm 25:4-5

Make me know Your ways, O LORD;
Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
For You I wait all the day.
Oh, to know the ways, the paths, the truth of God and walk closely with Him! It is the cry of my heart.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this...as a matter of fact I have had a couple of them over the years.

My first one was 1 John 3:18, Dera Children, let us stop just saying we love ach other; let us really show it by our actions.

My current one is Acts 20:24, But my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus ~ the work of telling others the Good News about God's wonderful kindness and love.

My ministry verse is Romans 12:2 ~ Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is~His good, perfect, and pleasing will.
