Pray for the Upcoming Election

So I'm torn this morning - do I write on the political debates and the election our country is about to face or do I write about God's word? Do they intersect?

If they do intersect - where? And would my addressing these issues become a controversial topic that causes women to argue and debate in an ungodly way and even further - muddy the word of God that I so desire to share.

This is the issue I wonder about today. Maybe you could give me feedback - and say "yes" we want to hear your thoughts or "no" this is not the place.

So for today I will say "let's pray for the country". I am sure that is Biblical and not controversial.

You have the weekend to respond and for now here is what I am praying for my beloved America:

Thomas Jefferson A Prayer for the Nation:

Almighty God, Who has given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech Thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of Thy favor and glad to do Thy will. Bless our land with honorable ministry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion, from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people, the multitude brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endow with Thy spirit of wisdom those whom in Thy name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that through obedience to Thy law, we may show forth Thy praise among the nations of the earth. In time of prosperity fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in Thee to fail; all of which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I am torn...isn't Christ and His Word supposed to be a part of every area of our lives? Even politics? Shouldn't we talk about how our Lord would want us to vote? Shouldn't the moral issues be are only consideration? Not trying to start a contorversy just really struggling with how much we Christians SHOULD or SHOULD NOT keep our mouths shut! Court if you would like to discuss this with just me e-mail me at rk92097@yahoo.com or anyone else for that matter.

Thanks Diana and Kristen for your thoughts!

Yes, Kristen - the Lord is concerned about every area of our lives including our vote! And we Christians should fight for the unborn's rights and for other issues such as the definition of marriage.

But I've decided that this is not the forum. There are many other blogs and websites where these debates go on and I encourage women to chime in on those conversations and make a difference there. We can make a difference when we speak up.

So I do want to encourage you all to speak up and out in your circle of influence. Also, email your representatives and news channels as I have.

I am fearful that controversy could errupt on my site - like on most of the other sites and muddy the word of God.

If anyone would like to talk about political things with me via email - I am open - I do not wish to debate but if you have a question I am open to talking with you - just email me at:

Much Love,
Courtney
