The Unveiling Of My Brand New Website

In the title of this post I said "my" but really it's "our". Angela (pictured on the right - one of my dearest friends for 20 years) has built a beautiful new website for the Fall Good Morning Girls groups.

Let me be honest, I LOVE writing here at Women Living Well. I LOVE my readers so much and pray for you all often. I enjoy opening the doors to my home and saying - this is what I am learning in the areas of my marriage, parenting and homemaking.

But at the end of the day, if I didn't have my walk with the King, if I wasn't daily in God's word and praying... my marriage, parenting and homemaking would crumble.

The only thing that sustains me daily is God's word. I am utterly and completely dependent on God for everything.

I have written on the first page of my prayer journal "Observed duties maintain our credit, but secret duties maintain our life." It's the secret duty of getting alone with God every morning that maintains my life.

Do you struggle in your consistency with your quiet times? Do you wish you had a few friends you could discuss deeper things with - like your quiet times with God?

Let me explain the concept of "Good Morning Girls".

The "Good Morning Girls" is a title for a group of women who use email (or Facebook, Twitter and text messaging) to keep each other accountable for their quiet times. For 3 years, I have been a part of 5 girls who email each other each weekday morning after we have our quiet time. We say "Good Morning" and then share what we read in our quiet time. Some of us have our quiet time first thing in the morning, while others squeeze it in during children's naps or at bedtime.

This past summer there were over 600 Good Morning Girls!!!! And it's almost time for the fall session to begin, so invite a group of friends and join us on this journey. If you don't have someone to ask - check out the Good Morning Girls message board. From September 1st through September 15th - you can enroll on this message board. This is a 3 month commitment (ends December 15th).

I hope you will stop by today and take a peak. There's a video there from me to welcome you, a new message board and a blog where Angela and I will be writing about our quiet times. So if you want a sneak peak into my secret duties that maintain my life - be sure to subscribe.

Go check it out and tell us what you think!!!

Walk with the King and let him knock your socks off - he loves you so!

I love the idea of Good Morning Girls - I have some good friends that I have been on a bible study journey with and this would be perfect in that. Can't wait to join you all!

I just found your site and so far I LOVE it. I even blogged about it and plan to post a link to it on FB as well. I began to walk out these principles of submission and service to my family several years ago and it literally saved my marriage. I have much room for improvement and look forward to reading your inspiring blog and watching more videos. Thank you so much! I'm literally fighting back tears of joy at having found this. Makes me so excited to be walking out this calling and have people to walk alongside (even if from afar)! Yay!!! You've already inspired and encouraged me for the day!

Getting in contact with a few ladies on the boards who also don't have a group. Hoping to find someone to do this with, as I don't have anyone IRL

I have a question about your header picture and blog button. I'm new to your blog, but it doesn't seem to reflect what your blog is about. You blog is Bible and Christ focused, but the header and button have a sensual looking woman taking a bath. I'm just curious as to why you chose to use this image and do you think this would be a seductive image for a man?
Thanks!

Amy - GREAT question! Yes, I hate my header! I have wanted to have it changed for quite a while but am SO busy with other stuff that it's at the literal bottom of the list...and here's why.

Women Living Well is for Women...so men really aren't my audience...I next to never hear from a male reader.

Originally, Women Living Well was about the "Mind Body Spirit" connection. If you look in my "labels" section you will see that when I started I was writing on fitness and wellness a lot. I had regular "fit fridays" had a trainer writing over at womenlivingwell.org (you will find a whole bunch of workout plans there etc.)

Part of wellness for a women is her taking care of herself - getting her rest, exercise, time in the word, a bubble bath occasionally! :-)

So hence the bubble bath girl - she was cute, fun, and completely covered in bubbles ...and remember I started the website with zero readers...this whole Rachael Ray thing came out of left field.

I have no "goals" with this site...no goals to make money, write a book, nothing...this is simply ministry from this mommies heart to another mommies heart. I honestly thought I'd have 30 readers a day max!

I thought this would be a fun little hobby/ministry...but it has grown gang busters...and the direction I have gone with the site is different than its original intent.

So nope - it's not the right reflection anymore but it costs money and time to change it and I'm not at that place right now - so we are all stuck wtih the bubble bath girl until I get it together. This site is home baked - home made - all made from my own blood sweat tears and time. It is a labor of love.

I apologize if you see her as sensual - I never saw her that way...and you are the very first person out of hundreds of thousands to point that out...can I say to you - as I've grown...spiritually...and become an "example" that I never expected to become (I never planned on writing on marriage go figure!!!) I have recently said to my husband I hate that image.

So thanks for being sensitive to the Spirit...yes, it's in need of a change but no it's not changing anytime real soon because it takes time to change it...and that's something I don't have right now :-( So sorry...but this comment might just move it up the to do list a few notches.

Much Love and thank you for your comment,
Courtney

Courtney, thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. It makes me feel better about your blog knowing that you don't care for that image and that you plan on changing it when you can.

I recently found your blog through the Back to School Hop and I am really enjoying it : ) Thanks for your quick response. God Bless!

I and four friends were part of the 600 women who participated in this summer's GMG. It has strengthened our friendships and our quiet time more than any of us would have imagined when we first started.

We had our 2nd annual homeschool mamas retreat at the end of the summer, where we committed to not only keep each other accountable in our quiet times, but also to keep each other lifted up in prayer. God has been so faithful in bringing us together for His glory!

Thanks so much for the inspiration and venue to get us started on this amazing journey!
