My Story (How I Got Saved, Began Blogging and the Rachael Ray Show)

Back in January, I spoke at my church. I gave my testimony of how I fell in love with Jesus, how Elizabeth Elliot became my hero and how I ended up at the Moody Bible Institute.

I learned a lesson along the way which is written in Jeremiah 45:5. It says "Seek great things for thyself, seek them not."

This verse has been planted in my mind and has played over and over as I have walked down the road of starting Women Living Well and then ended up on the Rachael Ray Show. I share all of the details of talking with the producer, the taping and the after effects.

I know this is 30 minutes long - which is WAY too long if you have little people in need of you - but I hope you will stop back on a quiet evening and listen to

My Story

Thank you for sharing this and for following what God was prompting you to do with starting a blog, even though it was not easy. You story is very encouraging and I am thrilled that I am able to visit your website and be inspired to grow closer to God and be a better wife and mother. If you had not started this website, I probably never would have been able to hear you speak. Keep pressing on!

I can echo what has already been said - this was such an encouragement to me! I am a fairly new reader to your blog and have gone through a lot of your archives. Your devotion to God, your husband and your children are an inspiration to me. Just yesterday I began to get overwhelmed at life. I feel like there are so many things I need to improve, that I don't even know where or how to begin. Your audio clip has reminded me of many things, one of which is "do the next thing" (I believe E. Eliot said that), and just fill myself with HIM. All will then fall in place under Him.

Blessings,
Yvonne

"The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing..." 1 Corinthians 1:18

I know we weren't talking about the cross, but I believe what you speak about marriage is the way God intended. It will seem foolish to the world and people that don't truly know Him.

It makes me so sad that women would say such awful things to you!

Thank you for your boldness and desire to let God use you:)

I truly enjoyed your story. I am going through a rough patch in my marriage. Discussing it with trusted friends is not the answer. I realized I must find verses or as I like to call them "promises" in God's word on marriage and faith. I am inspired by you daily and I must always remember that with God, NOTHING is impossibe. Keep walking with the King Courtney:-)!!!

Just finished listening to it! Wow Raise God!!!

I love love love it!

One this that stood up to me was that God very early on pout a desire in your heart to share your faith with the whole world, but His plan was only know to you later in life and you had to wait patently for it and not act on it in your own flesh, this as shown me a lot of maturity on your part!

If been thinking lately about God plan and our plan, How often we plan and then ask God to bless us in what we have chosen to do but we should always stop, pray that God's will be done and not ours, tell him all our desires but leaving the planning up to Him because He knows best and His blessing are amazing!

Thanks again for sharing this with us, it was truly a blessing for me to hear tonight!

I just wanted you to know that I had to travel out of town last night and thank goodness for the Iphones you can download anything to them while your driving and I listened to your story again on the way home. It truly spoke to me to really listen to what God has planned for us and not ourselves that when we seek Him he will reveal all. Thanks again for sharing your story!!

Thank you for sharing that. I enjoyed listening to it and it challenged me to walk closer to God so that I can sense His lead in my own life more precisely.

There have been a couple times where I felt inspired to do something in particular that would have required some sacrifice on my part but I wasn't sure if it was him or just me.

My blog is my ministry also. Not in quite the same way as yours. I'm not a devotional blog but I share the gospel and more in the hopes that lost readers will get the message that they need a Savior. That is the most important part of my being online.

Tessa - I am so sorry the MP3 is not playing for you. The only thing I can think of is your computer does not have Windows Media Player - that's what the MP3 is playing in.

My apologies.

And thanks to everyone for the encouragement!!!

Much love,
Courtney

Hi Courtney,

I had some free time this morning to listen to your talk and was very blessed by it. You are a gifted speaker and I believe the Lord will use that gift mightily for Him! I am really hoping and praying to make it to Relevant but it is still up in the air. I would love to meet you in person!

Hi Courtney, I just finally had a chance to listen to your story. I am greatly inspired and will remember many of the things you said. I am happy that God changed the direction of the work he had for you and how HE is now encouraging women all over the world to go to the well daily. Thanks for your submission to Him. As you shared, the verses that came to mind were: Matthew 10:26-33.

I am so thankful for this audio that you shared with us.

Your sacrifice to give up ministries to minister at home --- boy, did that speak to my heart. There have been times when I signed up to take a meal to someone at church and then my entire home goes bananas while I'm trying to get the food ready, out the door, etc.

Your laryngitis story was impactful too, the way God can really teach us to give it all over to Him.

THANK YOU. Keep doing good things, being faithful, spurring others toward God.

I loved your story. You reminded me of what 2 Corinthians 1:9 says about learning not to rely on ourselves but on God who can raise the dead. Your an inspiration. If you ever vacation in Northwest Florida let me know, some of us girls would love to meet with you. Have a Blessed day.

Blessings,
Pamela

That was great (watched the Rachel Ray show) that suddenly God's ways are a "novel idea"! lol!

Cool that the world might rediscover the value of women in the home!!

I have been blessed to be home, (I have a business at home for the last 5 years). My baby just graduated and is off to college in the fall. I home schooled in the early years, and have had a rich life...(not financial riches obviously!)

blessings to you and your family and ministry!
