You Are... Enough!

I think that it is a common mistake to think we aren't smart enough, skilled enough, rich enough, pretty enough, or spiritual enough to make a difference! Do you remember Moses when God called him to lead Israel he said "Lord, please send someone else to do it". His excuse was that he was not eloquent enough.

Do you ever feel that way - I have felt that way -but my problem has been - "I'm not old enough". Even now I struggle with writing any blogs on parenting and what I think is a good "method" simply because my children are 6 and 4 and who knows if my "method" will be effective in raising Godly children to adulthood. Until they are raised and "I am old enough" - I feel like I can't speak to most parenting issues.

I read this African saying recently and jotted it down:

"If you think you are too small to make a difference, try spending the night in a closed room with a mosquito."

So true isn't it?

I think of the boy with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Do you think there were other people around who had some food? I wonder - did they maybe have food but didn't want to give it to Jesus? Jesus found just one boy willing to give all that he had and God took that little bit and fed multitudes! What if the little boy had said "sorry, I don't have enough" and didn't offer anything to Jesus?

Think of the joy that little boy had as he watched his bread and fish filling all those baskets! Think of how many times he must have told that story to his children and grandchildren! Think of how his faith must have grown as a result of his willingness!

"God never asks us to give what we do not have...But he cannot use what we will not give." You are...enough. Now go and offer all of yourself to God to be used by him. Ephesians 4:10 says "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Walk with the King!

Oh, this is so good, Courtney! I have been reading "Experiencing God" by Henry Blackaby and he talks about how when God gives us assignments they are always God-sized! That way we have to depend on Him and He gets all the credit and glory!

He's calling me to do some God-sized things right now and I think the main barrier I fight is fear. But if He calls me, He'll equip me. I just keep claiming that!!

I love your blog! And, girl, no matter your age, God has given you words of wisdom that have encouraged me and I'm sure many other women. Keep it up!
