Considering Your Trials a Joy

Last night my Good Morning Girls enjoyed a Girls Night Out. (We are missing 3 ladies in our picture)
There are 11 women in my group emailing each other each morning after we have our quiet times - I LOVE it!

We are now at over 1,000 Good Morning Girls Groups and at over 150 Groups from around the world! It has been SO exciting to see women from nearly every state in the USA including Hawaii and Alaska plus from around the world in Croatia, Australia, Korea, Austria, Germany, Scotland, France, and Canada.

Some of the ladies have joined me for a walk through the Book of James. And today we have completed week 1 in our study. Every Friday I will be writing or making a video to go with our study and it will be posted on my sister site at GoodMorningGirls.org

Going forward I will not duplicate my Friday post here but since it's only week 1, I thought I'd share the video with you all here too. (Sorry it's a bit too dark)

If you are not reading in God's word on a daily basis, I invite you to join me in my walk through the book of James!

Walk with the King!

Thank you for this video this morning. My husband was forced to take a demotion last year and has put us in a situation where sometimes we've had to decide to buy milk and bread instead of pay the water bill that week. Your analogy about the cup was like the biggest AH HA moment for me. I have been trying to figure out why the smallest things are making me snap. I never used to be a "yeller" but I have been yelling at my children and short tempered with my husband. I'm going to fight for joy. Thank you again for this post. I am always so encouraged here!

Thanks for doing the video! I've been doing the James study, so it was nice to see other's reaction to the book. I love how each verse is filled with wisdom-it makes me realize that I've been reading the bible too quickly for my own good in the past. My boyfriend and I are looking to see what the next step for us is, and James has proved to be so relevant in the quest for His answer.

Thank you for this great post. You are blessed with the ability to take God's word and put it into easy to understand clips, like the coffee mug. I so appreciate you, you are a daily hit for both my husband and I. I too am doing James daily. Thank you for the time you dedicate to this.

I´m doing the James study with all of you. I really love the the mug analogy. I really need to work on that and truly fight for my joy. Because I´m facing a very hard time dealing with a pointless depresion.
I thank the Lord for using you in such a nice way!

What a wonderful video Courtney! Thank you so much! As I looked at it I kept nodding my head in agreement. I know what its like to be going through the trials, tested in the fires and... YES, we do come out stronger, better for it! thanks for the advice on keeping joy in our cups. I need to remember that one! God bless you as you continue your work, ministering to women.

At the moment my whole family and extended family are going through a trial that feels like it will never end, not in this life. My beautiful niece died in a car accident on the 8 dec 2009, she will be forever 21. It was her day to go home to her Heavenly Father and her family who have gone before her. I was talking to her sister yesterday and i said this trial is like a loop, like a running track, its not until we step off the loop that we find peace. I told her that as we trudge round this loop God offers us His hand and shows us the way to find this peace but we have to make the choice to reach out and take His hand. She couldnt understand after what seems to her so little time that her friends and the friends of her sister and even some of our family members are moving forward and i tried to explain to her that they had stepped off the loop, the track, and found peace. Not all my family members know God like i do nor do they have the assurance that the Atonement of Jesus the Christ will heal all things in time or in eternity. There are days when i find myself trudging round the loop again but know i only have to reach out my hand to find the peace i am craving. We each face trials differently and we each face different trials, but i know a simple prayer said in faith will bring peace.

Saved By Grace - my photo is missing three of our girls too :-( It's hard to get 11 ladies with the SAME free night to get together. For you, With them out of state that's even more of a challenge! Maybe someday you can all do a road trip lol!

Wow! It is so awesome to know so many woman are coming together in fellowship and friendship to read and study the Word of God.

Thank you for the post as well. I know personally I've not been fighting for joy. I've been letting my circumstances rule my mind and moods. I'm going to work on that.
