Tasty Tuesday: Monster Mix Perfect for the Kids!

I will admit - this recipe I am about to share is very unimpressive! BUT your kids will think you are amazing! Pack it in baggies for a snack at the park and you will be one popular mommy! So what goes in a monster mix? My monster mix has: Cheerios, salted peanuts, m&m's, peanut butter chips and chocolate chips. Your mix could include raisins, sunflower seeds, teddy grahams, chex mix, pretzels, fishy crackers - whatever you have in the cupboard - just don't forget the m&ms! That's what makes it a hit for the kids AND with the change of seasons you can change the m&m color - like red and pink at Valentines Day, Green on St. Patty's Day, red and green for Christmas, pastels for Easter and red, white and blue for the 4th of July! Just have fun with it!

I am participating in Tempt Your Tummy Tuesday, Dining With Debbie , Balancing Beauty and Bedlam and Tuesdays at the Table recipe exchanges. For more blogger recipes go to these links.

  1. Yummy! My kids love this but we don't make it often because of some food dye reactions. Although I could make it with Sunspire instead of M&M's.

  2. Oh, yum! This looks yummy! I think it is perfect for adults, too. Is it bad if I eat out all the m&ms? :D

    Have a great day!

  5. Mmmm! Our kids LOVE Monster Mix! I just recently discovered the "build a mix" bulk section at our local Winco store. Tons of stuff to choose from (like orange fish crackers, cranberries, raisins, yogurt and chocolate covered raisins, all flavors of chocolate chips -- butterscotch, vanilla, etc., nuts, m&m's and more!) And the price per pound is pretty reasonable. I went to the Dollar Tree and bought a Rubbermade cereal container with a scoop lid that I use to store it in and I use the scoop to fill a 'to-go' pack for each kid when we're going somewhere or when they need a snack on the run.

Our Winco also has fortified cereals in bulk that are much cheaper than even Costco. You probablly are all way ahead of me and already know this! But, it's a 'new' discovery for us! :) And wherever we can save, we rejoice!

    Blessings!

I LOVE hearing from my readers and I pray for you all regularly. I try to respond to questions in the comment section as quickly as I can - within 1-3 days.

Due to an overflowing email inbox and the desire to keep my husband, children and home first priority in my life, I am no longer able to answer personal emails at this time. I apologize.
