Anxieties - To Be Cast Not Carried

Are you anxious today about something? Maybe it's the future outcome of the election, or the failing health of a parent. Maybe you worry about your child's strong will and where that will lead them or the failure of your marriage. In this economy you may be fearing your husband losing his job or how you are going to make ends meet. We all have anxiety - or things that we worry about.

Anxiety can grow and grow until it's a burden that we carry everywhere we go. I have something on my mind this morning that I am worried about and so I turned to I Peter 5:7. It says "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."

Our anxiety is to be cast onto God - not carried. But how do we literally do this? I mean how many times have we all prayed to God and given him our burdens and then within a day picked them back up and continued to carry them.

I discovered today that the key is in the second half of this verse. It is in believing that "He cares for you." Believe this promise. The command of this verse is to "cast ALL your anxiety on Him" and the promise is "He cares for you."

When this verse says "He cares for you" it means he knows every detail of your situation. He is involved in your life and will take care of you. You have no need to fear and can have comfort knowing that he is right there with you and will not leave you alone in your situation.

So today - whatever your fears are - cast them onto Jesus in prayer. The previous verse says God's hands are mighty! He is strong! And this strong God cares for you. Now go have peace - a peace that the world does not understand.

  2. We all need this reminder - it shows on our faces when our backs are being broken under the weight of our burdens. God loves us so and wants to make our burdens light - so we can have peace and joy and shine for Him! Thanks for stopping by Hope!

I LOVE hearing from my readers and I pray for you all regularly. I try to respond to questions in the comment section as quickly as I can - within 1-3 days.

Due to an overflowing email inbox and the desire to keep my husband, children and home first priority in my life, I am no longer able to answer personal emails at this time. I apologize.
