Last year, I posted this video where I mentioned a book that has really strengthened our marriage - Intimate Issues: 21 Questions Women Have about Physical Intimacy.



To celebrate the end of our series of Putting Your House In Order , I'm giving away 3 copies of Intimate Issues.  I believe that embracing physical intimacy with our husbands is a huge key to marital success.

    Does it answer the question of why God created women to not really need it but men do? Or why since I don't get out of it what he gets out of it, that fact leaves my husband less satisfied and more times than not our "encounters" end in frustration and awkwardness?? I genuinely find it unfair that it is harder for women than it is for men. I enjoy being close to my husband but the act is just never enjoyable for me. I don't think a book is going to solve these kind of problems that I think probably most women would admit to if they were honest. A positive attitude is not going to change a physical feeling (or lack thereof). I wish God had made us with more similar drives. I find it hard to not feel unfair about this.

    I love your blog! It's so inspiring! I follow you on my yahoo account and on facebook! It's great! I would love to get this book for my daughter. She was a senior in high school when she got pregnant (last year) and is now married to the young man. They both are in college, working and raising this little baby. They are trying to live a life glorifying to Him even after the mistakes they have made. I think this book would be extrememly helpful in solidifying their marriage and give them much needed guidance. Thanks for the opportunity!

    Hi Courtney! It is a great book. I used it as a resource for my "Good Girl's Guide to Sex" coming out with Zondervan!

    I think we women underestimate how important sex is for a guy. We need to feel loved to make love. They need to make love to feel loved. We each need to meet the other's main need before we get our needs met! It can be tricky.

    That's why I've always said that Sex for women is all in her head. We need our heads to be engaged for our bodies to follow, and we need to DECIDE we want to make love. But it's not always easy when we're tired....

    I have talked about this book with my girlfriends since you've recommended it, but never got around to buying it... partially because I didn't want to admit that it should be something I might read.

    Before we were married, I never thought that intimacy would be something that we would struggle with. Like many engaged couples, we couldn't WAIT to be married, enjoy the honeymoon and learn each other. Almost 2 years later and I know now that this is a book I should have. I struggle with and have questions I never thought I would. Our marriage would definitely benefit from this book. Thanks for the opportunity Courtney!

    Always excited to make my marriage stronger.     Courtney every time DH & I are having an issue in the intimacy department I come to your blog and on that day I find a post with the video about the importance of intimacy in a marriage. This is the third time that this has happened now and the funny thing is that after him and I have an unpleasant discussion about intimacy etc.. I know that if I look on your blog I will find that you have re-posted the video. God speaks to me often through your blog and has definitely done it once again. I replied to your video post once about how I was doing so much better in this area and in saying YES every time but after speaking to a friend something changed and I have not been doing as well, you told me that what she said to me was a lie and to get this book but I have not had a chance. Maybe here is the chance to get it since I can definitely use it and it often comes to my mind that I should really get it.     Hi Courtney, I am actually new to reading blogs. Actually your blog is the only one I read at the moment. I am trying to read through all of your blogs from the past few years. I'm half way there. Anyway I saw your video talking about the Intimate Issues book and went the next day to the book store to buy it, but they didn't have it in stock so I ordered it off EBay. I was so anxious to receive it, looking everyday in the mail for it. A week or two later I received a email from the seller from eBay saying she was sorry but they didn't have that book anymore. Ugh! So I gave up. Until I saw your give away and now I am praying I get this book! Thanks for your inspiration!
