Tasty Tuesday: Easter Morning Breakfast Resurrection Rolls

This is what we have for breakfast every Easter morning. These are so fun because when the rolls are done baking - they are empty inside - JUST like Jesus' tomb!

The pictures included in this post are from Easter last year!

Resurrection Rolls

Ingredients:
1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
8 large marshmallows
Melted butter
Cinnamon Sugar

Directions:

Give each child one triangle shaped section of crescent roll. This represents the tomb.

Each child takes one marshmallow which represents the body of Christ.

Dip the marshmallow in the butter and roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture. This represents the oils and spices the body was anointed with upon burial.

Lay the marshmallow on the dough and carefully wrap it around the marshmallow.

Make sure all seams are pinched together well. (Otherwise the marshmallow will "ooze" out of the seams)

Bake according to package directions.

Cool. Break open the tomb and the body of Christ is no longer there!!

Celebrate God's love!

  5. That recipe is really close to being sopapilla cheesecake! If you haven't tried it, you need to :) Those look really good! I also like that there is a lesson to be learned while making them.

    Thanks for another great post!

  6. My mom use to make these and call them marshmallow puffs. I love your idea better, I'll have to make them before Church on Sunday, the boys would love the story, I bet we can bring in a few to the Sunday Class to share the story! Thanks a bunch for the idea.

  8. We'll be doing these this year as well. Since my youngest son has a cinnamon sensitivity and I don't want to leave him out of the whole experience, I will be using brown sugar instead of cinnamon sugar.

I LOVE hearing from my readers and I pray for you all regularly. I try to respond to questions in the comment section as quickly as I can - within 1-3 days.

Due to an overflowing email inbox and the desire to keep my husband, children and home first priority in my life, I am no longer able to answer personal emails at this time. I apologize.
