Everyday Should Be Thanksgiving!

For a Christian everyday should be thanksgiving as we daily celebrate God's goodness in our lives. Here's a poem with that reminder:

I love the mess to clean after a party because it means I have been surrounded by friends.

I love the taxes I pay because it means that I'm employed.

I love the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat.

I love a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home.

I love all the complaining I hear about our government because it means we have freedom of speech.

I love the spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking.

I love my huge heating bill because it means I am warm.

I love the lady behind me in church who sings off key because it means that I can hear.

I love the piles of laundry and ironing because it means my loved ones are nearby.

I love weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have been productive.

I love the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I'm alive!

I Thessalonians 5:18 "Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

We have so much to be thankful for - we just need to adjust our perspective and open our eyes to all the many many blessings that we have been given - then our hearts will overflow with thanksgiving. What are you thankful for today?

Walk with the King!

What a beautiful poem! I just posted the same verse today on twitter and myspace. I am always thinking about how blessd I am. I truly believe all my blessing come from God. I am thankful for so much but I will say that having God come into my life this year tops my list. I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving.

There has been something missing in my life and through you and your wisdom and knowledge , I have found that missing link and once again let God into my life fully ... Thank You again and have a wonderful , blessed Thanksgiving

Dawn - Wow! This year God came into your life!!! Hooray! That's AWESOME and I am thrilled to have you as a sister in Christ!

Gramma of Freedom - I am humbled. I am encouraged. I am blessed by your words.

I am so thankful for my WONDERFUL readers who have encouarged me and helped me to keep pressing on, on days when I felt exhausted and like I didn't really have anything to offer or give.

We serve a living God and he is the only one worthy of praise. He is my source, strength, rock and shield.

And precious readers - I am determined to point you all to him daily! He is so worthy!

God Bless you!

Courtney, God bless you dear sister. I've heard our work as Christians is to "know Him and make Him known" and I want to thank you for leading us in doing that. God is so good. Love to you at Thanksgiving, Jenny C.
