Oh how I struggle - I had NO idea how hard it would be to find sweet savoring moments with my Savior once I became a mom. I had NO idea it'd be so hard to just go to the bathroom once I was a mom!!!
Then there is my other sweet friend and "Good Morning Girl" Kelly (we have two Kelly's in our group) and here is what she has to say about our group:
I cannot say enough how my "Good Morning Girls" group has benefited my life. Before I became a part of this group I was lucky to get up early once a week to have a quiet time. I wanted to...I just struggled with getting myself up to get going. Since this group, I am happy to say that my quiet time is a regular thing for me, and something I have come to look forward to each morning. I love the accountability we have with each other. I look forward to hearing from each and every girl in our group each day, and when one doesn't "check in", we notice! The best part, by far though, has been the lasting and strong friendships I have with these girls. We are able to share our joys as well as our struggles, and I know I can count on them to "have my back" when needed. We love each other, pray for each other, and have even fasted for each other. We are sisters in Christ and I am so completely blessed to have them in my life.
And then there is our sporty Good Morning Girl - Melanie:
This group has meant so much to me over the last two years (I can't believe it has been that long). I can honestly say that I would not be the mother or wife I am now if it were not for this group. We challenge each other, support one another and most importantly, we pray for one another. When we put a prayer request out among our group, I know it will be prayed for and kept within our group not turned into gossip or used as a conversation piece outside of our group.
We challenge each other in every aspect of our lives. Spiritually, we encourage one another to be in the Word consistantly and share with one another. Physically, we support each other by sharing our eating habits and exercise routines. We challenged ourselves by running distances we never thought we could. And mentally, we need each others support...everyday! We talk about our struggles, give and take advice from one another continually. We share the awesome things that our kids do and well, the not so awesome things as well. :) But never do we degrade, or complain about our husbands...I do feel that is so important to mention!
In the end we are just five wives that love God, love our husbands, love our children and want to be the best wives and mothers we can be. We strive to do that each and everyday with each others encouragement.
Could you use this accountability in your life?
Walk with the King!
Courtney, That is such a great idea. It reminded me of the Yada Yada Prayer Group. Have you read that series? I would love to get a group started with my gals. I need to read your other post that explains the "getting started" but that will have to be on my next visit since I am sitting here w/ wet hair and need to get to work on time since it is the 1st day of school! LOL :) Lana
ReplyDeletehey! i'm planning on doind this, and praying about my 'list' thanks for the encouragement! -liz young
ReplyDeleteThank you, Good Morning Girls, for sharing your hopeful story of how God has used you in each other's lives. What a fantastic testimony!
ReplyDeleteI could, yes.
ReplyDelete2 years ago, I thought EVERY Christian read their Bible every day. I had no clue that so many people don't even read once a week. Having myself gotten so far off on my reading in the past year, I know for a fact how easy it is to stop reading consistently. I could use some accountability and I need to just get back into it- there really are no excuses not to read- none.
