His Name Is Jesus

I just finished reading Max Lucado's Book - His Name is Jesus. As I read, I journaled any golden nuggets I found along the way. I used to underline and highlight the things I wanted to remember (and I still do) but I found it difficult to review what I was learning - so I have begun a "Book Notes Journal" with all my favorite quotes out of the books I'm currently reading. I ended up with 7 pages of quotes from this book! I just couldn't put my pen down - Max's book stirred up so much emotion and love for my Savior that I felt compelled to record his thoughts so I can revisit them.

If you have never read a Max Lucado book before - you must give this book a read. It is a compilation of the best of previous books by Lucado. As the book unfolds, he takes you on a journey of the Birth of Christ, the Mission of Christ, His Death, His ressurection and His Legacy. This book has really prepared my heart for the celebration of Easter - but truly we should not just be looking into the life of Christ just on holidays - but everyday we must remember the work of Christ on the cross and that we serve a very real and risen Savior!

Why did Christ die on the cross? Look at the face in your mirror.

He died for you!

Lucado says "Do you feel a need for affirmation? You need only pause at the base of the cross and be reminded of this: The maker of the stars would rather die for you then live without you."

As we move closer to Good Friday, I will continue to share more from this book and what God has laid on my heart in preparation for Easter. Please join me in a serious meditation on the cross and resurrection.

And today - as you go about your daily chores and activities remember - "Nails didn't hold God to the cross - Love did." (- Lucado) Live for Jesus!

Walk with the King!

Hey Courtney! Your daily blogs/devotions are amazing! God has definitely given you a gift to delve into His Word and then clearly be able to share it with others. You are a Blessing to me! I am looking forward to reading this book. I love the idea of a "Book Notes Journal"--I am an underliner too--going to give book journaling a try! Have a Great Day!

Thanks guys! Linda - yes - book journaling has proven to be a life changer - because for so long I have read and read and read and then could not remember what I read! Now I can easily review what I've read! I hope you find it to be as rewarding!
