My best thing to save time, have a plan and stick to it (barring emergencies). Don't wait until the last instance to do whatever you have to do.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a chore you don't like, do it first and the rest will be the gravy!!
Depend on the Bible and God's Word to guide you always.
We are big fans of the book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" by Marc Weissbluth. While this is not technically a "time saving tip," having my children on a healthy sleep schedule is a huge help in our daily life management, my marriage, and the overall dynamic of our home!
ReplyDeleteOur kids are both in bed no later than 7pm. We also take the pack n' play and my daughter's sleeping bag to our small group and anyone else's house where we may be after bedtime, and they are used to sleeping wherever we are.
They are well-rested and therefore more emotionally/ physically resiliant, their mom and dad have hours of alone time every night which is great for our marriage, personal sanity (!!), and "to do" lists, and we are able to stay involved in ministries and relationships that are so important to us.
I wish every parent would read this book, put it into practice, and enjoy a more rested family! :)

I have enjoyed following your blog :)
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed the book "life management for busy women" by Elizabeth George. Lots of good ideas for making the most of each day!
Morning's are frantic, and I rarely have time to iron my clothes. So, I'll wet a wash cloth and throw it into the dryer on high heat with the garment I plan to wear. In five minutes, my clothes steamed wrinkle free and freshly fluffed.
ReplyDeleteProper preparedness prevents poor performance. Apply this to any situation and be stress free, for the most part. :)

ReplyDeleteClean as you go. I learned this from a dear Sister Missionary. After having cooked dinner, eaten and gotten the kids to bed there is nothing I'd rather do then sit, relax and forget the dishes. So instead of letting them pile up as the evening goes on I wash them as I cook. It leaves me less dishes at the end of the night and more time to relax with a good book or movie.
ReplyDeleteI followed your link from Mormon Mommy
i multi task, when i am out i try to get several things done at once, when my water is boiling for coffee i am doing something else and i also clean as i go that saves a lot of time as well thanks for the giveaway
ReplyDeleteMy datebook. My "life" is in there--what I have to do, when I have to do it, etc.
ReplyDeleteIn January I buy all of my birthday cards for the year, stamp address and sign them, and keep them in a basket for the outgoing mail. You never miss a birthday this way or have to scramble looking for a card.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

ok best time saving tip- toss as you go-garbage in the trash as soon as the mail comes in- look and dump
ReplyDeleteI'm a list maker. I start each day with a list of 'must accomplish items' and a few items that are optional. Even if I don't finish it all, crossing at least some of the items off reminds me how much I did get done. And I keep ongoing lists for groceries etc.
ReplyDeleteto save time at the grocery store I make my list according to the layout of the store. that way I only got down each aisle once and when I reach the last aisle, I'm ready to check out.
ReplyDeleteI keep a erasable marker board on my fridge. That way it is quick and easy to write down items as they are used. I take and copy the list down before I go to the store. With the board, I find that it's easy for everyone to remember to write things on the list and it doesn't get lost.
ReplyDeleteMornings are the most hectic times for me so I make sure lunches are fixed the night before.
ReplyDeleteIts kinda silly but when I have a meal that requires chopped chicken breast I always use the chicken tenderloins. They are easier to cut and save time as opposed to chopping up several chicken breast. They are cheaper sometimes too. Just a tip.
ReplyDeleteI am a firm believer of having everything ready the night before. I lay out kids clothes, pack lunches and have my work bag ready to go
ReplyDeleteI have a few recipes that I can double with little extra effort. I put the extra meal in the freezer and then on a crazy day, I don't have to cook! I also like to cook up a big batch of chicken breasts and shred some and dice some. I keep 2 cup containers of the chopped chicken in the freezer to add to soups, casseroles, and to barbecue chicken pizza (my family's favorite!). Makes dinner prep just one step simpler!
