I like your verse, and your outlook on life.

I am not a schedule person,..so we sound opposite on that. But I love the Lord and my family so much, so there is common ground.

I like to blog and I am on facebook. it is a fun way to socialize and keep track of people.

I like your family picture from Christmas. You all look nice in your red.

I am glad that you can stay at home with your kids. You will like homeschooling and be good at it.

    You are blessed!

  4. I really needed that verse today. That is the very issue I am dealing with. I think you will love homeschooling. It might be a little overwhelming at first, but since you are a scheduler it should make it a lot easier. See you on facebook.

  7. I am watching the Rachel Ray episode right now. I agree with so many of your statements. It's so wonderful to hear another woman with the same values and traits that I share. Most of my friends are complete opposites and it sometimes puts a separation between us. Thank you so much for sharing! I will definitely be looking you up on FB!

  8. I relate to so many of the things you listed, but I tend to dream about getting some of these things done more than I actually do them. Someday, would you post an example of your daily schedule? I'd like to see how you get so many things done! Thanks for being such an encouragement to women in an age where we are told we don't have to serve our husbands.

  13. Hi Courtney!
I've just read this from you:
    16. I home school my children using the K12 curriculum.

I live in Mexico City, mom of a 2yo son. Love the idea of homeschooling and precisely thinking in k12...please tell me your experience in this field.

    Thank you so much!
    Love,
    Tania

  14. Tania,

I LOVE K-12 specifically because it is computer based. It is so easy - each day I log in and it tells me exactly what to say on the screen as I teach. I do not have to put a lot of planning into it - so that has been nice.

BUT it is not Christian curriculum and there have been multiple times that I have been uncomfortable with the content - but that's the benefit of homeschooling - you take the ick out and leave the good in. I filter everything and supplement some Bible curriculum in and it's all perfect.

So that's been my experience one year in :-).

    HOpe that helps!

  21. Hope you're ok with me following your blog. I have a VERY different life from you. You are lviing the life I wanted as a child (i wanted ot be a SHM. It was my dream) but as I grew older, I didn't like the examples i saw of that life. My mom was a sahm, but I had a pretty dysfunctional family. I was homeschooled, but it was NOT done well. I know it can be a good thing, but not something i could ever do.

Anyhow, I'm now 35, never been married or had a serious relationship, and I have an almost 5 yr old daughter.

Very different from what i want, but here i am, trying to rasiemy child to love the Lod, andhave a better life than I had. It's too late for me to have the life I want, but not for my daughter.

I never learned how to keep house, so I REALY struggle with that, and I love reading homemaking blogs and getting tips on how to run my household.

I really enjoyed reading your 25 things, and watching the clip of you on RR.

  26. I just found your blog and can't wait to explore all of the goodies on it. I am also a Good Morning Girl, a friend invited me and it has been amazing.

I was very interested to read about your role in the home and admire it very much. I've always wanted to be a homemaker and homeschooler myself and am both.

For the last three years I've been dealing with kidney disease, then dialysis and amazingly a kidney transplant after only 7 months on the list. With my failing energy and now (slowly) regaining my energy it's been quite difficult to get it all done. My husband helps me quite a bit and did almost everything when my my health started failing (before transplant).

I felt pretty guilty about that but was thankful that he stepped in and took over (quite adequately I might add). Now I'm looking forward to reclaiming my full role as homemaker and wife! Sorry for the ramble. Don't know why I told you all of that! :)

Due to an overflowing email inbox and the desire to keep my husband, children and home first priority in my life, I am no longer able to answer personal emails at this time. I apologize.
